WHEN?

 

Saturday & Sunday, March 3 & 4, 2018


WHERE?

 

Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park . Starting at the capitol building in Tallahassee, Florida, travel south on SR 61/363 (Monroe Street/Woodville Highway) approximately 10 miles to the community of Woodville. As you reach the elementary school at the southern edge of Woodville, turn left onto Natural Bridge Road. Travel approximately 6 miles east to the Battlefield.

  •     10:00 A.M. Military Demonstration
  •     12:00 P.M. Presentations by the John G. Riley Center/Museum of African American History and Culture; Oration of Frederick Douglass by John Anderson
  •       1:00 P.M. Ladies Tea - Ladies Soldiers Friends Sewing Society Society; Presentation by Karen Kugell - Unionists in Florida
  •       1:30 P.M. Artillery Demonstration
  •       3:00 p.m. Skirmish - Followed by: Battleground Medical Treatment of the 1860's
  •       4:30 P.M. Military & Civilian Camps Closed to the Public
  •       5:00 P.M. Annual meeting of the Natural Bridge Historical Society, Inc. - BALL TENT
  •       8:00 P.M. Civil War Dance - Open to the Public, period dress requested, but not required

    Due to site limitations there is NO MODERN CAMPING or RV PARKING allowed at the Park. Participating reenactors must register upon arrival and will be directed to the appropriate authentic camp. Pets are not allowed.

    ANNUAL MEETING OF THE NBHS

     

    The annual business meeting of the Natural Bridge Historical Society, Inc. will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, March 3, 2018 under the Ball Tent at the Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park. Please join us!


    CONTACT INFORMATION

     

  •     Due to site limitations there is no modern camping or RV parking/camping allowed. Authentic military and civilian reenactor camping only in assigned areas of the Park. Civilian reenactors must submit an application for camping in the civilian camp prior to the event and will be assigned a space, where avaialable, on a first come-first served basis. Use of existing fire pits only - no unauthorized digging on Park grounds. No pets are allowed.
  •     All reenactors must register upon arrival and agree to the authenticity and safety guidelines for the event. This event is primarily a battle reenactment. Non-military activities should be confined to the civilian camp and be period correct. No armed cowboys, gunslingers, sheriffs, marshalls, or unauthorized provosts are allowed.
  •      To ensure public safety military reenactors must be part of or assigned to an organized unit; civilian reenactors may not carry firearms (pistols, shotguns, or rifles) as part of their impression.
